The inspiration of Rona’s sculpture was the railway points outside of Paddington Station. Taking this reference to the railways also inspired the lighting concept, with light subtly moving to play with the shadows of sculpture on the wall behind. The selected colour temperature invokes the colour of the light (high pressure sodium) that used to be seen in railway sidings when viewed from train windows. The cast bronze sculpture was transported to site and installed in one piece. The light cross-fades between the concealed projectors on the flat roof in various locations to emphasis the movement in the sculpture’s shadows.
