The boardwalk runs through a newly restored wetlands nature reserve and connects to Canada Water Station, meaning the lighting had to support both the revived ecology of the area and heavy foot traffic.
Warm white light highlights the boardwalk’s charismatic red stained timber while minimising spill into the water.
The lighting adjusts in intensity and colour temperature during periods of bat activity to reduce disturbance to wildlife. Rather than encapsulated fixtures, we specified individual, repairable luminaires, supporting sustainability and a circular economy.
